Summer in the Netherlands, it’s always a party. One moment it can be sunny and warm, two minutes later it can be raining like crazy. And like a true Dutchie, I’m gonna talk (or rather, complain) about the weather for a bit. Last week wasn’t great, a lot of rain and it was quite cold as well. What I do like about bad weather though, is that it’s the perfect excuse to stay in bed and watch Netflix 😀
I kept hearing great things about a certain documentary on there: What the Health. It’s about what goes on behind the scenes in certain health organizations in the US. The film was made by the same people that made Cowspiracy, Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn.
The main point of the movie is that health organizations that should be working against heart disease, cancer and diabetes, promote food that can lead to those same diseases. During the movie they uncover that the reason for this could be that these organizations get sponsored by big (unhealthy) food companies and pharmaceutical industries. This would mean that the government gives bad advice to people about their health, which would be very shocking of course.
However, some people argue that the film is ‘vegan propaganda’ and that some of the facts stated aren’t facts at all. I’m not a food expert, so I don’t know who’s right or what’s true. I found it a really interesting documentary regardless and I recommend you watch it so that you can form your own opinion.
Have you seen it? Let me know what you think!
